I am coming to Grand Rapids in Sept. on business and would like to find a cigar bar/lounge or a store with a smoking area.
Can you give me some suggestions as one cigar lover to another?

Currently there are few places that support us. The Chop House, which is downtown right across from the Amway on Monroe. The India River Tobacco Traders Outpost on 28th Street and 131. Buffalo Tobacco Traders On Fulton and Diamond, and Tuttles on 28th Street next door to Hooter’s. All of these places both sell and allow smoking in the respective locations.
The Chop House is our local home and the location of our regular meetings.
Other than that, there are not too many others that I am aware of. On Fridays, there is an informal gathering at the Radisson on Ann St. where we will sit on the deck by the river that is strictly BYOC. THere is also news of another place opening downtown soon but I do not have many details about that.
We are in the process of opening a Speciality Cigar Store in downtown Grand Rapids, and were wondering if the Grand Rapids Cigar Society would be willing to support this endever of ours?
This store would have a large walk in humidor and lounge for customers to smoke their purchases. We are also looking into opening a “Private” Monticristo Lounge that would be for members only, and are in the process of obtaining permission for this as well.
As for smoking in the lounge and store, I have a Michigan Smoking Exemption that will allow our customers to be able to do so.
What we are looking for is a letter from the Grand Rapids Cigar Society, stating that this is something that your members would appreciate, and would be interested in this store opening.
